Project coming soon…
The colors remind me of those shiny fruit candy wrappers
…. and it’s live!
This project is based on a space we chose to investigate. For me, it was my apartment that I share with my sister. Both of us are sleeping on air mattresses right now and all our items are pretty much kept in plastic boxes since we might have to move out anytime (long story). So slowly this project has turned more into an exploration of my objects. For each object, I traced back to the city that I bought it along with the cities that I brought it to. These objects are all recorded like an inventory. Though at first, it may appear as if the items I bring with me doesn’t differ much, however my essential objects that has traveled everywhere with me speaks for itself, such as clothes, shoes and electronics. My professor called me an extreme minimalist and I guess that’s a habit I’ve developed as I practically have to move to a new place every 2 years.
As you flip through the locations and toggle from Origin Bought to Traveled To categories, you will discover the objects really reflect on my relationship with the city as well. New York, where I currently reside, has the most household utilities. By looking at all the clothes, you can see that they probably have the most travel history, as I will always take my clothes with me anywhere I go.
Notes: still going through some minor changes though
